The heart and soul behind the work

Every January, people promise themselves a fresh start. Most of those promises don't make it to February.

I named my practice January Soul because I believe in beginnings, just not the kind that fade. The kind you actually live. I know what that takes, because I had my own January: the moment I stopped waiting for the right conditions and decided to build something of my own. Starting January Soul wasn't a tidy plan. It was a leap, the same one I now ask my clients to take. Before I ever sat across from someone and said “you can begin again,” I had to prove it to myself.

That's the work. I'm Trish, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and I walk alongside individuals, couples, and families through healing, growth, and reconnection.

I see people through a systemic lens, which is a clinical way of saying I don't think anyone heals in a vacuum. Your relationships, your environment, your culture, your history: it all shapes who you are and how you find your way back to yourself. So our work is collaborative. You're not a case I'm solving. Your voice and your lived experience sit at the center of whatever we build together, inside a space where you can feel safe, seen, and unhurried.

I earned my Bachelor's in Health Science and my Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from Mercy University, and I've since had the privilege of working with clients from all kinds of backgrounds as they strengthen relationships, move through hard transitions, and reconnect with themselves and the people who matter to them.

Outside the therapy room, I stay close to community mental health work, partnering with local organizations and outreach programs because I think care should be reachable, not reserved for people who already know how to find it.

Choosing to look inward takes real courage, and I don't take that lightly.

Your January doesn't have to be January. It just has to be yours. When you're ready, let's begin.

Here for your beginning,
Trish

Their January Moments

Every story here began the moment someone decided it was time. These are their new beginnings, their January.

I started therapy with Trish when I was at my lowest point due to dealing with grief. Trish was very patient and helped me work through my issues at my own pace. She is a great listener and gave me the emotional support I needed. Although I started therapy for grief, Trish helped me to improve and grow in so many other areas over the last two years. I’m forever grateful for our therapeutic relationship as it has changed my life for the better.

Their January · Verified Client

I have seen a few therapists in the past few years and Trish Hyatt was the last therapist I saw. She proved to be a very genuine, sincere, understanding, and attentive listener while also being down to earth. Her insights in addressing my life challenges and family matters was a big help. Now my family and I see life in a more positive light and our future as a family is strong.

Their January · Verified Client

I would highly recommend Trish as a therapist if you’re looking for someone who is genuine and truly cares about helping others. We also had a family session, which helped encourage my children to seek therapy as well. She meets you exactly where you are.
